Week 7 brings, perhaps, the most important Eagle Grove football game since October 2017, and perhaps even since the 2011 season for the Eagles. A playoff berth could be at stake on Friday night as the Eagles welcome in county rival Belmond-Klemme. The Broncos hold a 8-12 series lead over the Eagles, winning the 2019 matchup 40-20.
Belmond-Klemme enters Friday’s game with an 0-6 record, but having been competitive in nearly every game they have played in 2021. Tate Sander leads the offensive attack, throwing for 63 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 670 yards and 2 touchdowns. Senior backs Clayton Pletsch and Cameron Roberts have also been top contributors in the rushing game. Roberts is also the Broncos leading tackler with 44 on the season.
Eagle Grove comes into Friday off of their massive 20-18 win over Manson-Northwest Webster in Manson. The Eagles rushing attack was lead by Jake Jeske, who took the 3rd play of the game on Friday 80-yards for a touchdown. Jeske and senior Roberto Calles, have combined for over 600 rushing yards on the season, while Tate Richardson and Blake Morgan have accounted for 7 rushing touchdowns.
