
The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows cross country teams also made the trek to Hampton on Thursday night to compete in Hampton-Dumont-CAL invitational at Maynes Grove Park. It was CGD’s 2nd meet of the week following the Algona Invitational on Monday.
The Cowgirls cross country squad did not compete as a complete team and did not place in the final team standings. The top runner for the Cowgirls was sophomore Emalyn Nel, who finished 72nd in a time of 29:12. Sophomore Natasha Johnson finished 90th in a time of 33:46.
As for the CGD boys, the finished 11th in the meet, with a meet score of 280 on the evening. The Cowboys top runner for the 2nd meet in a row was freshman Christopher Greenfield, who finished 34th in a time of 20:24. Junior Luke Brownell finished 62nd with a time of 21:45.
