South Hamilton will look to rebound following a heart-breaking loss to Woodward-Granger last Friday, as they take the trip west on 175 to Lake City to take on South Central Calhoun. The Hawks are 0-8 all-time in the series, dating back to the days of Southern Cal, the most recent loss knocking South Hamilton out of the playoffs in 2020.
South Central Calhoun enters Friday with a 4-1 record and fresh off a dominating victory over Eagle Grove. The Titans are lead by senior running back Blake McAlister, who has rushed for 422 yards and 6 touchdowns, as well as caught 7 balls for 150 yards and 3 touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Gavin Batta has thrown for 428 yards and 6 touchdowns on the season as well. Batta and Kevin King are also 1-2 in interceptions on the team as King has 3, and Batta has 2.
South Hamilton comes into Friday night fresh off a tough loss to Woodward-Granger, where the Hawks played well, but could not get one final stop. The return of Austin Busch has changed the dynamic of the South Hamilton wishbone attack, as Busch has rushed for 249 yards and 2 touchdowns in his first 2 games back. Landon Skartvedt continues to lead the team in rushing with 659 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Kickoff will come at 7 PM at South Central Calhoun High School in Lake City on Friday.
