South Hamilton’s cross country teams made the trek to Story County to compete in the Nevada Invitational at Indian Creek Country Club on the south side of Nevada. The girls field included ranked foes such as Class 3A #5 Gilbert, 3A #6 North Polk, Class 2A #12 Roland-Story, and Class 1A #20 Collins-Maxwell.
The Hawk girls finished 5th out of 11 teams, with a score of 164. The top finisher was junior Annika Kienzle, who placed 22nd in a time of 23:32. Senior Madison Beaune finished right behind her in 23rd, with a time of 23:34
The South Hamilton boys competed against ranked foes such as Class 3A #3 North Polk and Class 2A #19 East Marshall. The Hawk boys finished 8th out of 12 teams, with a meet score of 207. South Hamilton’s top finisher was junior Landon Grove, who placed 24th in a time of 19:33. Junior Eli Potter finished one spot behind him in 25th, in a time of 19:41.
