Eagle Grove looked to bounce back following their shutout loss to Woodward-Granger in their district-opener, however, going up against a perennial power in South Central Calhoun. The Titans entered Friday with a 3-1 record and an upperhand in the district title race.
South Central Calhoun got the scoring started almost immediately, as Kevin King took the Titans first offensive play 43 yards for a touchdown to put the Titans up 6-0. After an Eagle Grove fumble, Blake McAlister punched in a 2-yard run to put the Titans up 14-0. Eagle Grove would turn it over again on the ensuing possession, and Blake McAlister found the endzone once more to put the Titans up 22-0. South Central Calhoun continued to put points on the board fast and furiously, adding a safety and 4 more touchdowns in the 1st half, to put the Titans up 50-0 going to halftime.
South Central Calhoun picked up right where they left off in the 2nd half, punching in another touchdown to go up 57-0, before Tate Richardson finally put the Eagles on the board with an 24-yard touchdown run to put the score at 57-6. The Titans and Eagles traded one more touchdown each, as Blake Morgan ripped off a 55-yard touchdown run to give the final score of 64-12.
South Central Calhoun goes to 2-0 in the district and will host South Hamilton on Friday. Eagle Grove drops to 0-2 in the district and will face Manson-Northwest Webster on Friday.
