Webster City, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Eagle Grove had their cross country teams perform at the Humboldt Invitational on Tuesday night. The meet was rescheduled from Monday night due to the rain received in the area on Monday.
On the girls side, St. Edmond’s took home the team title with a low score of 62. Webster City was the highest area finisher, as the Lynx girls finished 11th. Junior Emma Peck was the Lynx top finisher at 16th, in a time of 22:57. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows took home 12th in the meet, and were led by top finisher Ashley Fennel, who finished 63rd in a time of 26:32. Eagle Grove competed as an incomplete team and did not place, but junior Maddie Axtell was the Eagles top finisher at 30th, in a time of 24:05.
For the boys meet, all 3 schools competed as complete teams, as Clear Lake took home the boys title. The Webster City boys finished 10th, with a team score of 248. The Lynx top finisher was Jose Ramirez, as the senior finished 6th in a time of 18:23. Cole Reiling finished 11th in a time of 18:55. Eagle Grove finished 11th as a team, and were led by junior Drake Weland, who finished 10th in a time of 18:50. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows finished 15th in the meet, with their top placer in Jacob Ingebritson, who finished 36th in a time of 20:07.
