Eagle Grove continued the search for win #1 on Tuesday night as they traveled north to take Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in Top of Iowa Conference play. The Cardinals entered 11-5 on the season, and left Tuesday night sitting at 12-5, but not without having to earn it.
The Cardinals took Set 1, 25-20, as Eagle Grove looked like a team locked in for a dogfight. The Eagles nearly stole Set 2, but ultimately fell 25-22. Set 3 was much of the same, Eagle Grove put up a great fight, but just could not get over the hump as they fell 25-20, giving Garner-Hayfield-Ventura the sweep.
Eagle Grove followed the lead of freshman Addyson Jeske, who finished with a team-high 5 kills, while numerous other Eagles finished with 2 kills. Maddie Kaiser lead the team in assists with 8, while Suzi Kaiser finished with 5.
