#14 Webster City volleyball to face Humboldt

The Webster City Lynx volleyball team will play, perhaps, the biggest game remaining on their schedule Tuesday night as they take on the Humboldt Wildcats. Humboldt, the reigning power in the North Central Conference for over a decade, enters Tuesday night with a 19-4 record.

Humboldt has been lead by the hitting duo of junior Addie Thompson and junior Kayla Gieber. Thompson leads the team with 146 kills and Gieber is second with 101 kills. The Wildcats setter, junior Livvy Becker, leads the team in assists with 366, which is the 5th-most in Class 4A. Senior Marrisa Kaufman maybe the most consistent 2-way player for the Wildcats, as she has totaled a team-high 20 blocks, with 84 kills on the offensive end.

Webster City comes into Tuesday night fresh off a 2-3 performance at the Forest City Tournament on Saturday, where coach Jess Howard picked up win #250 against Clear Lake. The Lynx, ranked 14th in this past weeks Class 4A rankings, will look to clear the biggest hurdle left en route to a conference championship. Webster City is looking for their first win against Humboldt since 2013, and have only won 2 sets against the Wildcats since then.

First serve will come at 7:30 PM at Webster City High School, you can hear coverage of the game tonight on 95.7 KQWC.
