Webster City volleyball welcomed in a home crowd for the first time in the 2021 season as they hosted the Gaels of St. Edmond in their home opener. The Lynx came in 9-1 overall, and St. Edmond entered at 3-7.
The Lynx got off to a slow start, trailing early in Set 1, before Jess Howard re-focused her squad, which allowed Webster City to storm back and win Set 1, 25-14. Webster City continued to push the pedal to the metal, as they dominated Set 2 with a 25-8 win. The Gaels, however, made things interesting in Set 3 as they kept it neck and neck most of the way. Webster City was able to pull away when needed, and scored a 25-20 win in set 3, to earn a sweep of St. Edmond.
Sierra Rattenborg lead the way in kills with 11, Livia Kasch finished behind her with 5 kills. Joslin Gourley finished with a team-high 23 assists, while recording 2 blocks as well. Reese Casey and Abby Gallantine lead the team defensively, with 4 blocks each.
