The Eagle Grove and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows cross country teams will trek north on Thursday to compete in the Clear Lake Invitational at veterans Memorial Golf Club. The boys field will include teams such as Class 2A #20 Clear Lake, Class 1A #11 Mason City Newman, and 1A #16 Central Springs.
Eagle Grove will follow behind the lead of top runner Drake Weland, who has ran a top time of 19:07, as well as sophomore Noah Thul, who has run a low time of 19:50. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will follow the lead of their top runners of junior Jacob Ingebritson and freshman Christopher Greenfield.
The girls meet will consists of a field including Class 4A #4 Ames, Class 2A #16 Clear Lake and Class 1A #8 Mason City Newman. Eagle Grove will be lead by junior Maddie Axtell, who has a season-low time of 24:32. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will be lead by sophomore Ashley Fennel and junior Makayla Pulido.
