Webster City made the transition from the hunters to the hunted after their win over Clarion-Goldfield-Dows last Thursday. The first challenger would be Hampton-Dumont-CAL, and the Lynx had little issue taking care of business against the Bulldogs.
The Lynx got out to a fast start from the get go, as they never trailed in set 1, taking it by a score of 25-10. Set 2 was perhaps the most dominant set the Lynx have played all year, at one point leading Hampton-Dumont-CAL 20-1, before closing out a 25-3 win in Set 2. The Bulldogs did show fight in Set 3, as they battled back and forth with the Lynx before Webster City regained control to win Set 3, 25-13, and take the match, 3-0.
Jess Howard’s squad was once again led by the play of Sierra Rattenborg and Joslin Gourley. Rattenborg finished with a team-high 12 kills, while Gourley finished with 28 assists. Reese Casey was 2nd in kills with 6, while Livia Kasch finished with 5 kills. Casey and Alayna Finucan lead the team in aces with 6.
Webster City Volleyball will be back in action next Thursday, as they host Iowa Falls-Alden.
