Eagle Grove will look to bounce back from a tough loss to county-rival Clarion-Goldfield-Dows last Friday, as they travel west to take on Maple Valley, Anton-Otho/Charter Oak-Ute on Friday. This matchup will be the first time these two schools have ever faced on the gridiron.
MVAOCOU comes into Friday night off the heels of a 43-8 loss to Westwood, Sloan in Week 1. The lone Rams touchdown came courtesy of junior running back Cole Behrens. Offensively, the Rams are led by sophomore quarterback Anthony Newquist, who threw 2 interceptions in the loss to Westwood on Friday. Cole Behrens and Ethan Kuhlmann will look to lead the Rams rushing attack.
Eagle Grove also comes into Week 1 with an 0-1 record, and will look to break a long losing streak, that dates back to October of 2017. Senior Tate Richardson took the snaps at quarterback against CGD with sophomore quarterback Jake Jeske out due to an injury. Richardson was Eagle Grove’s leading rusher against the Cowboys, while Roberto Calles and Cayden Schultz contributed in the rushing game.
Kickoff is slated for 7 PM in Mapleton.
