May 3rd KQWC Sports Rundown

Solid day loaded with high school sporting events including a couple of conference track and field meets for three local schools. Now we just need the weather to play ball.

In the lone high school sports event to take place Wednesday, the South Hamilton Hawks girls golf team took part in the Heart of Iowa Conference Meet from Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone. The Hawks girls would take 4th of 8 teams with a cumulative score of 399 strokes as Krista Swenson would shoot 93 and Kenady Campbell would score a 99. South Hamilton will be back on the Links tomorrow at Clarmond Country Club for a triangular meet with Eagle Grove and CGD that was rescheduled from April 6th.

Also just one college sports event scheduled for Wednesday as the Iowa Hawkeyes baseball team was set to host the Western Illinois Leathernecks in Iowa City but that single game was postponed for the 2nd time due to thunderstorms. It will be made up on May 15th. The 26 and 15 Hawkeyes will host the 17th ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys for a 3 game weekend set beginning tomorrow.
