Thoughts of summertime are on the minds of the organizers of the 101st annual Hamilton County Fair. The theme for this year is “Equines,Bovines and Little Buckeroos”.The dates for the fair will be July 24 through 29. The fair will kick off with the annual parade through downtown Webster City followed by the Farmer’s Challenge. On Wednesday night,July 25,the first two nights of racing at the fair will be taking place. Harness racing and the crowning of the 2018 fair queen will be the grandstand entertainment on Thursday,July 26. An event that drew a large crowd last year is returning to the Hamilton County Fair this year. It’s the IRCA Grand River Rodeo on Friday evening,July 27. The second night of auto racing will be Saturday, July 28 with Kid’s Night at the speedway. The fair wraps up with the Demolition Derby and Trailer Races on Sunday,July 29.
The Ed Prince Stage will feature a hypnotist and the Bill Riley State Fair Talent Show on July 28.
The Hamilton County Speedway will have a new promoter this year. Todd Staley will be in charge of the operation of the U.S.R.A. ( United States Racing Association) speedway. The first race of the 2018 season will be on Saturday, April 21.
