Luis Fonsi, Justin Bieber & Beyoncé score multiple Billboard Latin Music Awards nods

ABC/ Heidi GutmanLuis Fonsi may have been shut out at the Grammys, but he’s still got an opportunity to win a slew of 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Thanks to the success of “Despacito,” Luis scored 10 nominations, as did his collaborator on the original version of the song, Daddy Yankee.  Justin Bieber, who came on the track later, received eight nominations.

Among the categories in which “Despacito” is nominated: Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event, Airplay Song of the Year, Digital Song of the Year, Streaming Song of the Year and Latin Pop Song of the Year.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé is an unlikely nominee, scoring six nods thanks to “Mi Gente,” her hit collaboration with Latin star J Balvin.

Other nominees include Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and, oddly, Ed Sheeran, who is nominated for Crossover Artist of the Year.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards air April 26 live on Telemundo.
