A farmland leasing meeting is set for Tuesday,August 8 at the Hamilton County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach office at 311 Bank Street in Webster City. The meeting will be held from 9:00 until 11:30 a.m. ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist Kelvin Liebold will be the presenter of this program for area farmers. Topics covered will include the Iowa Cash Rental Rate Survey and Land Values Survey,the comparison of different types of leases, lease termination, impacts of yields and prices, calculating a fair cash rent, the use of spreadsheets to compare leases and issues unique to this year’s production and an outlook for next year. The cost to attend is $20 per person or $30 per couple. This includes a set of beneficial materials regarding farm leasing arrangements and farmland ownership.
