At their meeting Thursday afternoon, the Webster City Park and Recreation Commission members were updated on improvements to the parks in the community. The Webster City Lions Club members hope to have the new playground equipment installed by the end of June at the Lions Park on Lynx Avenue. The Webster City Wilson Brewer Park Committee is working with Schlotfeldt Engineering on a detailed cost estimate report for the repairs needed to the park facility. At Riverside Park, the goal is to have the remaining plants to be planted to complete the wetland project. At Lyon’s Creek Wildflower and Mesic Prairie Area, the staff is hoping to spray Roundup on the area next week. Once the spraying is done, the crew from Stony Creek Landscapes will plant the seeds.
This Sunday,May 21, there will be a badminton tournament at Fuller Hall and at the ACE Community Center beginning at 3:00 p.,m. There are eight teams that have registered for this Sunday’s tournament.
The Webster City Outdoor Swimming Pool will be opening for the season on Monday,June 5. The hours of operation will be from 11:30 until 1:00 p.m. for adult lap swimming and private swimming lessons and from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. for open swimming every day of the week. There will also be swim lessons, swim team, Aquatots and Aquacise to be offered this summer.
