Stratford man facing charges after arrested by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department this week.

On Sunday,May 14, a  residential fire at 413 Locust Street in Stratford was called in to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.  Upon arrival by the Stratford Fire Department they requested assistance from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. 

 An investigation was initiated and conducted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Narcotics Enforcement. 

 As a result of the investigation Vincent Burkhart, 37 of Stratford was charged with Arson 1st Degree Class B Felony, Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, Class D Felony, Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Marijuana a Class D Felony, Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp a Class D Felony, Child Endangerment an Aggravated Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Simple Misdemeanor.

  Assisting the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was Stratford Fire and Rescue and The Iowa Department of Public Safety Division of Narcotic Enforcement.

  Hamilton County sheriff Doug Timmons said the case is still under investigation.
