Eagle Grove basketball travels to Lake Mills in Top of Iowa play

The Eagle Grove basketball team’s return to action on Tuesday, following the postponement of their game on Friday, as they travel north to face off with the Bulldogs of Lake Mills. The Lake Mills girls are 2-3 on the season, while the Lake Mills boys are 4-0 and ranked #10 in Class 1A.

The girls tip off at 6 PM, with Lake Mills led by sophomore Taylor Vanek. Vanek enters averaging 9.4 PPG on the season, while shooting 33.3% from 3-point range. Junior Ella Stene averages just under 8 PPG, while leading the team in rebounding, averaging 8.6 RPG. Vanek also leads the team in assists with 2.4 APG.

The boys then take the floor as the 10th-ranked Bulldogs, picked by many to win the Top of Iowa West, will look to move to 5-0 on the season. The Bulldogs are led by senior Wyatt Helming, who enters averaging 21 PPG and shooting 47% from 3, while also averaging 9.4 RPG. Fellow senior Bennett Burger comes in averaging 11.8 PPG, while dishing nearly 5 APG as well.
